Emyvale features scenic rolling hills with changeable elevations that are uncommon in most areas of the province. The site is completely wooded with mature maple trees, some birch and some white spruce and fir. The northerly boundary of the property is formed by a popular fishing stream at the foot of the grade. Emyvale is located just five minutes from the province's only alpine ski facility, Brookvale Provincial Ski Park, which also features groomed nordic ski trails and snowmobiling. Buffer zones for the stream will play a dual role as the subdivision's required green space. This green space will be owned by Westwood Hills Homeowners' Association. Park benches and gazebos are planned for the buffer area near the stream so residents and guests may enjoy the burbling brook. A walking trail along the stream has been almost completed by the Central Queens Wildlife Federation.
Emyvale has no intrusive industries that may impact on the quality of the environment and enjoyment by the residents. The Westwood Hills subdivision borders a small field and forest on the west side. The north and east sides are buffered by the streams and on the south side by the Kingston Road.
